The waterfall is located in the Skepasmeno Gorge, which is situated on the western slopes of Pieria. The gorge is also called "The Nine Muses of Pieridae" and the name Skepasmeno translated (covered) comes from the part of the gorge where the river goes underground. The landscape is of natural beauty with waterfalls, natural ponds and impressive cliffs. A wooden viewing platform offers a view of the first triple waterfall, 25 meters high. Walking down the path, which is a bit challenging in places, will lead you to the waterfall. The area of the park has been designed in such a way that it can host events or concerts. For those who like extreme sports, the descent can be made on ropes and through the waterfall itself. The area is crossed by the main stream of a large drainage basin, the eastern boundary of which is located on the highest crest of the Pieria. The stream has a continuous flow and flows into the artificial lake Polyfitos. In the lower part, a large waterfall of 40 meters with two intermediate steps is formed. The waterfall is located about 4 km from the village of Velvento. It can be easily accessed along a canal through dense, bushy vegetation with scenic spots.
