The lighthouse was built in 1901, it is 12 meters high and is 65 meters above sea level in the southern part of the island. The lighthouse was operational in 1901, but during World War II it was shut down and the light at the lighthouse reappeared in 1945. As part of the reconstruction of the Greek lighthouse networks, in 1988, the solar-powered equipment was replaced and the lighthouse was electrified and operated as a controlled electric lighthouse. The structure consists of a square building, on the roof of which stands a small tower about 9 meters high. The lighthouse can be reached by a dirt road from the port of Serifos.
