Agios Prokopios beach

Agios Prokopios is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Naxos, regularly ranked among the most picturesque coastlines not only in Greece but in all of Europe. This place has managed to retain its natural charm, with locals actively protecting the coast from excessive development and the emergence of large entertainment complexes. The beach is located just 5.5 km southwest of the island's capital. People often walk here from neighboring Agios Georgios, enjoying a stroll along the sea. The coastline stretches for almost two kilometers and impresses with its wide expanses of soft white sand, which contrasts effectively with the crystal clear azure-turquoise water. In sunny weather, the sea here is especially picturesque, and the gentle waves with foamy crests add dynamism to the landscape. However, families with small children should be careful, as the entrance to the water is quite steep, and the depth begins almost immediately from the shore. In addition, the sea here is usually cooler than on many other beaches in Naxos, possibly due to underwater cold springs. Vacationers choose Agios Prokopios for its calm sea without strong winds and storms, crystal clear water, ideal for snorkeling, and the cleanliness of the beach, which has been awarded the Blue Flag. The northern part of the beach is more rocky and traditionally attracts lovers of secluded relaxation and nudists.
