The Carpathian Tram is an amazing tourist route running along one of the oldest narrow gauge railroads in Ukraine. The Vygodska narrow gauge railroad was built in the 19th century by an Austrian businessman, Baron Leopold Popper von Podgari. It was intended for transportation of workers and timber. The road runs through the picturesque valleys and rivers of Ivano-Frankivsk region. To date, only the Mizunskaya line has survived, along which the tourist route comes. The picturesque route attracts many tourists who enjoy the natural beauty and history of the region. The tourist route, opened in 2004, starts in the village of Vygoda and passes through the village of Senechev, following the valley of the Mizunka river. The route then crosses an old bridge over the Sveča river. Along the route you can see a lot of natural and historical sights, among which are: a hydrological natural monument of national importance - the marsh “Shirkovets”; the mineral water spring “Goryanka” (also known as “Naftusya”); the mountain spring “Dziurkach”; picturesque Mizun waterfalls; the chapel in Solotva forestry, located on the site of the first salt deposits of the XI century; old industrial premises and forestry buildings (stop Mindunok) and others. This route will be interesting for lovers of nature, history and active recreation. Traveling by rail can be combined with multi-day hikes to the peaks Menchul (1450 m), Yaiko-Ilemskoe (1679 m), the paths of the national liberation struggle to Vyshkovsky Pass (930 m) and Mount Lysaya - the place of the former pagan sanctuary, the peaks of Magura, Shchavna mountains, as well as to the forestry “Sobol”.
